5 players head to their third World Cup
Half of the squad heading to Atlanta next month for the upcoming IFCPF Women's World Cup 2026 tournament will be competing at their third World Cup. Tahlia Blanshard, Lainee Harrison, Katelyn Smith, Eloise Northam and Georgia Beikoff were all part of the inaugural squad during the 2022 tournament, and helped Australia claim the 2024 title.
All five players started in Australia's first-ever game against the Netherlands, recording a 12-0 win in the 2022 opening game. Beikoff, Northam, Smith and Harrison were all on the scoresheet in the victory.
Heading to their third World Cup, these five players will bring a wealth of experience to the squad as they look to defend their title.
3 players off to their second World Cup
Carly Salmon, Trinity McPhie and Annmarie de Uriarte head to their second World Cup, after lifting the title back in 2024 during their World Cup debut. All three players featured heavily in the last World Cup.
De Uriarte scored a four-goal haul during Australia's 9-2 win over the Republic of Ireland, with the team starting their title defence against the Irish. McPhie made her debut against Japan, and was vital in helping keep two clean sheets against Ireland and Denmark during the tournament.
Salmon scored a goal in Australia's win over Ireland, and also kept a clean sheet in goals against Denmark to book Australia's ticket to the 2024 final.
2 players head to the World Cup looking to make their debut
Tamsin Colley and Leah Spaine are the only two players who are heading to the World Cup looking to make their tournament debuts, with Spaine the only player in the 10-player squad who has yet to make an appearance.
Colley featured for Australia at the 2023 IFCPF Asia-Oceania Championships, helping claim the title, but missed out on selection for the 2024 IFCPF World Cup.
Spaine will be looking to make her debut when she heads to the World Cup in Atlanta next month.
