Japan is a familiar opponent to the CommBank ParaMatildas. They played each other for the first time at the IFCPF World Cup 2022 in Spain, where Australia won 4-0. The goalscorers were Eloise Northam, Georgia Beikoff, and two for Lainee Harrison.
More recently, the team travelled to Japan to play a three-match series. The CommBank ParaMatildas won all three games 9-0, 8-1 and 6-0.
