The CommBank ParaMatildas will head to Atlanta next month to defend their historic IFCPF Women's World Cup title, with a 10-player squad named by Head Coach Charlotte Ercil.
Australia enters the tournament as the reigning world champions and the world’s No. 1-ranked Women’s CP football team, two years after making history in Salou, Spain, by becoming the first Australian national football team to win a World Cup.
The ParaMatildas produced a stunning comeback in the 2024 Final, overturning a 2-0 deficit to defeat the USA 6-2 and claim the world title. They have continued to compete at the highest level since, finishing runners-up to the USA at last year’s IFCPF Women’s Intercontinental Cup.
The squad for the IFCPF Women's World Cup 2026 includes Georgia Beikoff, Australia's 2023 Asia-Oceania Championship Golden Boot winner, and Tahlia Blanshard, who will compete at her third World Cup after featuring in 2022 and 2024. Katelyn Smith, the 2022 World Cup goalkeeper of the tournament who played a starring role in Australia's 2024 triumph, returns following injury, while Trinity McPhie also makes her return after an injury lay-off.
Emerging player Leah Spaine earns selection for her first World Cup after progressing through the national team environment, with the squad drawing players from five member federations across Australia.
Ercil, who has previously been part of the ParaMatildas coaching staff, takes charge of the squad, combining World Cup-winning experience with emerging talent.
