CommBank ParaMatildas assemble for Sydney training camp

The CommBank ParaMatildas will come together at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney from 13–16 November for their first training camp since finishing runners-up at the 2025 IFCPF Women’s Intercontinental Cup. 

The Australian side recorded impressive victories over Denmark (5–1), Netherlands (6–2), and Nepal (5–0) before falling to the United States in both the group stage and final, finishing second overall. 

Interim Head Coach Alicia Ferguson has selected a 12-player squad for the four-day camp, with six players from the Intercontinental Cup team returning alongside several familiar faces and one new addition. 

Among those joining the squad for the first time is Leah Spaine (Football NSW), while Lilah Flood (Football NSW) and Briana Commisso (Capital Football) return to camp having both attended national camps earlier in 2024 but are yet to make their international debut.

“The Intercontinental Cup gave us a really valuable benchmark of where we’re at against some of the best teams in the world. 

“We showed a lot of progress throughout the tournament in how we want to play and the standards we’re setting as a team. The next step for us is turning those lessons into consistent performances. 

“This camp is about getting back together, refining our style, and continuing to grow as a group. Every opportunity we have to train and connect makes us stronger heading into future competitions.” 

The CommBank ParaMatildas continue to play a vital role in Football Australia’s commitment to inclusive football, providing opportunities for women and girls with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, or symptoms of stroke to represent their country at the highest level.
